Testimonials (Atithi Devo Bhava - "Guest is God")
We stayed at the Hanu Reddy Residences while we attended a family wedding in the latter half of June 2016. My husband, three adult children and I stayed at a suite and a deluxe double room. I grew up in CIT Colony which is a stone’s throw away and I chose this property for reliving my childhood and growing up years. The property is situated in the exclusive Poes Garden amidst lush foliage. The outdoor covered eating area is very attractive while soothing, soft music engulfs the area. The rooms were very comfortable with a pleasing décor, good lighting (including a night light to find your way around in the dark) and lots of storage spaces. The rooms were well cleaned by Janardhan who did a fabulous job. The reception desk was well manned by Seemann, Praveen, Bhuvanesh and Monica was very helpful in attending to the needs of the guests. The breakfast was sumptuous and the made to order lunch and dinner were great and the chef was very accommodating of a lighter fare. Mrs. Nirupama Reddy was extremely pleasant and helped me get the services of a tailor at short notice. It is very obvious that the staff is empowered to provide the best service they can for all the guests. During my research for finding a suitable place to stay in Chennai, Mr. Seemaan was extremely responsive and prompt in getting back to me regarding my questions. It was a very enjoyable stay in the center of Chennai where it was easy to get to various places. At the end of stay they requested suggestions for improvements that is a big plus. I recommend Hanu Reddy Residences to everyone without any reservations.
I have tried multiple other hotels and BnBs in Chennai and nothing matches the quality, taste and authenticity of Hanu Reddy. Whether for a night or a month ~ I have stayed both, HRR has been on top of the game. Smiling faces, great food – which takes some time only because they make it custom and only for you.
Hanu Reddy Residency is located at Poes Garden, Teynampet area. While Teynampet area is known as one of the busiest commercial locality in Chennai, Poes Garden houses two of the most celebrated houses in Chennai; residence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu – Jayalalithaa and Cine Actor – Rajinikanth. HRR serviced bungalows offer much needed comfort for those who wants to stay quiet and close to nature.
Food: Buffet breakfast starts at 07:30 to 10:00 hrs. Along with Dosa and Idly Sambhar they do provide other variety as well, like alu paratha, omelette, poha, corn flakes
Need to look upon: I stayed in Deluxe Double Room. Room was good. Spacious as expected. Bathroom was good But they do have one rule which wasn’t explained during the check-in time that if we didn’t hang “Privacy” label while away, they will be unlocking the door to clean the room and replace the water bottles.
Note: They do charge fee INR 1750+ tax for early check-in.
Overall: Value for money. Don’t miss the way they have maintained the bungalows.
This was the perfect choice for our family’s recent stay in Chennai, providing all that we could have wished for in a hotel. However, unlike so many modern hotels, which lack character and individuality, this provided a memorable and unique experience.
The hotel felt as if it was in a residential area and there was no traffic or other noise and yet it was very close to good restaurants, cafes and shops and very central for travelling around the city.
All the staff were efficient and helpful. From our warm reception on arrival we knew we had arrived in a good place and were able to relax immediately. Everyone seemed genuinely concerned that we should be comfortable and that everything should be to our liking. the service was excellent but in no way intrusive. The rooms were clean with thoughtful touches to make a guest feel at home.
The food was carefully prepared, flavoursome and there was plenty of variety.
We will definitely stay again if we return to Chennai.
This was my fourth visit to this boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious, freshly aired and all gadgets in perfect order. Super clean bathrooms. Food is home cooked so makes you feel comfortable. The manager wished me like an old friend although it was well over a year since my last visit. Rates are the same as 3 star hotel. But more comfortable. Hi fashion shops around and fancy eating places like amadora. Overall will go again kind of experience.
We originally booked for four nights but kept extending and extending as we enjoyed staying here. We had friends in Chennai so had a reason to stay but the staff were so nice and caring we chose to stay on here. It is located in a great area for shops, restaurants and things to do and there was never any problem getting an auto. From the minute we booked in they could not do enough for us and were so kind, helpful and accommodating from the kitchen staff to housekeeping. Special thanks to Front of house staff team who were happy, smiley and chatty with us all the time.
Massive room and bathroom, clean, comfy bed, functioning amenities and excellent food. Breakfast is simple but I got an omelette and toast every morning and they even began to remember to bring me tea with separate cold milk. Essential for a philistine British person.
Cannot thank them enough, good value and lovely stay.
Rooms were clean & house cleaning was efficient. Surrounding was quiet and its just 5 minutes away from Apollo Hospital. Buffer breakfast served in the hotel was good. They even packed rotis for me for my further travel. If I was to visit chennai, I would prefer to stay in this hotel.
Early this year a client of mine who came to Apollo Hospitals for treatment stayed in this property. The deluxe room is well furnished and there is a well equipped kitchenette as well. A surprisingly quiet location in the midst of bustling surroundings. The kitchen provides very tasty food cooked to order also and the staff are very courteous and attentive. The owner Nirupama Reddy and her team of efficient staff provide a very hospitable environment. Mr.Ramesh who manages the place deserves special mention for his helpful and courteous ways.
I booked the Deluxe room for my parents who were visiting Apollo Hospital. Since at the time they arrived, there werent any Deluxe room available, they were upgraded to the suite and they loved the place.
*Location is excellent, specially for the one visiting Apollo Hospital which is just a few minutes walk away. Also the house is located in a very good neighbourhood.
*The rooms were neat and clean. Also being a renovated house, the rooms were very cool and airy. (You dont even need to switch on your AC all the time during July summers)
*The conduct of the staff is very cordial and very helpful. They always took care of all the requests of my parents.
*The food be it breakfast or lunch is very good, tasty and just like home-cooked food.
In a busy noisy city, this place provides a calm and welcoming atmosphere. I stayed here with my family for 14 days and we enjoyed every minute of our trip. The decor and design of the place is very well established and the rooms and bathroom are very spacious.
The most thing that impressed me is the staffs. They are very well trained and excellent in attenting to our query. They pay real attention to every small detail and thats what makes them amazing. Would just like to say thanks to Ramesh, Senthil, Ranjan, Kashi, Arun, Kedar, Hajarathu, Jagadesh, Aswin and Manoj. The food you cooked even when the cook was away was really delicious. Thank you for your care and service, you all really made our trip pleasant. If there is one thing we miss about Chennai then this place is definitely on the list.
A warm BIG thank you once again,
I’ve visited Chennai for us visa stamping and stayed at Poes Garden for 2 days with my family. It was really a pleasant and memorable experience at this place. The staff and the people working at this place are all so kind, humble and perform their duties with dignity and respect. This is really superb customer service!!!!
Hats off to the HanuReddy Residences for maintaining such great standard for customer service
The staff really helped us whenever we needed something and made our stay memorable one. Special thanks to Seeman, Praveen, Prakash, Monica and others….
For those who are visiting Chennai, i would recommend to stay at Hanu Reddy residencies and make your stay a memorable one.
Just ended our four night stay in Hanu Reddy and can say without any uncertainty that I’d fully recommend the place if I knew somebody going to Chennai.
Staff are very attentive and thoughtful – probably the best customer service we’ve received of any trip.
The hotel itself if very tranquil, which is an unusual thing to say considering its locality in the heart of Chennai where things can be quite chaotic.
Food also up to a good standard for breakfast
I don’t usually write reviews but I am writing to share my extremely rare and fortunate experience at Poes Garden.
I came to India to attend a wedding. As Indian weddings go, there were multiple events that required quick dress and jewelry changes through out the day. On the 3rd day of events I was shocked to realize my diamond ring was not on my finger. Through out the day I was nervous it had slipped off in my room and that the cleaning staff could have taken it.
But, upon returning to my room, I was extremely humbled to find my bed neatly made and the diamond ring carefully placed on top of the bed. It seems in my sleep I had taken it off unknowingly.
I feel it is important to share this experience because I think some of us are quick to assume or accuse the residence services of theft. The ladies and gentleman working at Poes Garden are kind, attentive, and most importantly work with dignity and respect. Your belongings are certainly safe here and the care you will receive is beyond sincere.
Thank you Hanu Reddy Residences Poes Garden Staff and Service!
I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks with family. Customer service is impeccable, be it the front desk who are always ready to help you, or the breakfast buffet people who serve with a smile, or the person who collects the laundry who delivers with a smile. Especially commend Monica at front desk who made special porridge for my 70 year old mother who was ill. They gave it complimentary! Also commend Praveen the manager, and Sharad for excellent service. Another person at evening and breakfast duty (Arjun?) at food service was very helpful too. Pushpa the gardening lady gave a tour of the garden.
Breakfast buffet was nice and hot, and food was tasty. The dining hall people were kind enough to provide food even outside ordering hours, with an hours notice. In short, Hanu Reddy Residences is all about the people, and service with a smile. One constructive suggestion is that the menu is rather limited on non-spicy vegetarian items. Would be nice to expand the menu to perhaps offer mild Kerala dishes.
A lovely hotel, with brilliant staff. The staff desreves a 5 star review on their own. They’re extremely courteous, and helpful. Not even once did i experience any rudeness from them in the two separate weekends
It was a nice experience staying for two days. The staffs are very good. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The food was also very good. It is very near to Apollo Hospital and other major attraction. Would definitely stay again.
I have stayed in many resorts to name a few Leela Kempinski, Taj groups, Waldorf Astoria and so on, but I have never experienced a sincere hospitality like Hanu Reddy Residence. The staff were very kind and very accommodative on all requests of the guests. It would not be out of place to mention a few staff members at this time, who were extraordinarily helpful and went beyond their normal call of duty, Mr Praveen, Ms Monika, Mr Seeman and a few other staff members whose name I do not know. The comparison I made with the highly rated hotels may seem to be over stated for those who are viewing this review, there are employees who would try to please the guests to keep their job, but here are those who did it from their heart, which makes a big difference between the star hotel staff members and these folks. Last but not the least, the COO Ms Reddy was so humble and the character of the residence employees resonates Ms Reddy’s commitment towards the guests. Kudos to al of you. Keep up the good work, I would recommend anyone who is visiting Chennai (Madras) to stay at Hanu Reddy Residences.
It is one place in Chennai which motivates me to visit the city again and again since i simply love staying here, thanks to my colleague in Bangalore who introduced this property to me. Since then i have stayed here many a times my most recent stay was in April for 2 nights. I was on a business trip.
This property is located in Poes Garden which has some of the biggest addresses in town including Chief Minister and Mr Rajnikant. .
It is a big property with probably over 20 /25 rooms. The rooms are good, quite big with all basic amenities. The staff is very very helpful and always meet you with a smiling face. The breakfast is served in a semi-closed breakfast area with air coolers. A good and well prepared mix of English, Indian and South Indian is served so one will definitely find something suiting to him or her, they serve eggs as well for breakfast besides Poha, Idlis, Dosas, Cornflakes, Milk, Juice etc etc. The owners of the property are also closely involved to see the well being of the guests. Lunch and Dinner is also served on request and they have decent variety and good preparations.
They have a Gym as well which I have not used so far as I love to walk outdoors in this posh and green area.
My stay an Hanu Reddy Residences Poes Garden continues to be most satisfactory. Its very much a part of my work and visit in Chennai, and a “Home away from Home” for me. Kudos to Nirupama and her team!
I thank you for your continuing commitment to customer care and wish you the very best! Seeman, Praveen, Monica, Bhuvanesh, Ajay, Prakash… you guys Rock! Thank you!
I had come for the elections and stayed at Hannu’s from 15th to 22nd of May 2016…
Sharing my experience at Hanu Reddy Residences… I loved the ambience, the clean and spacious rooms, the friendly staff and custom made food to suit your pallets…
Most of all I would like to thank Hannu Reddy Team for the special care they took of me especially when I was sick and needed hospitalisation and as I was alone, they personally took care of my needs, The CEO Nirupama Reddy and Bhuvanesh helped me to get admitted and made sure I was comfortable till I checked out…
and also thank you loads for those yummy Mangoes..
I would say your caption is apt and it is indeed a home away from home… I recommended my friends to stay and they did from 21st to 24th May… I would surely stay at Hannu Residences everytime I come to Chennai… Kudos guys!!!
I want to express the deep gratitude I have with Hanu Reddy and Team… First I would like to thank you for your most hospitable services that I enjoyed at the Hanu Reddy Residences, Poes Garden…
Named aptly as Residences and it is indeed a home away from home. Loved all the attention and care provided by your awesome team, each one of them including your housekeeping team…
*I want to highlight your concern especially when I was sick, I never missed even my family members… Thank you Nirupama Reddy and Bhuvanesh for your love and affection… Never felt this warmth, care and affection of taking me to a hospital when it was pouring at 3:30am and attending to my needs, making sure I was not dehyderated… You have gone the extra mile which I have not seen or felt anywhere in the World… Though I have travelled quite a bit…
*Thank you for the juicy Mangoes from your farm.
Would I go back to Hanu Reddy again?? Yess, every visit to Chennai I will stay only at Hanu Reddy’s… I would surely recommend my friends too…
Thank you loads Hanu Reddy’s for such a wonderful experience everytime that I am in Chennai…
Hanu Reddy Residences (Wallace Garden), was a perfect delight for our stay in Chennai. We used it as a base to walk to all main attractions, we occasionally used the cheap auto riks (Tuc Tucs)..these were arranged by the front desk if required.
Scrupulously clean room, with cavernous walk in bathroom and toilet. Air con that totally did the job, tea/coffee in room and a TV with all the usual choices. Our ground floor room was perfect for wheelchair access as were all the other facilities and entrance. I would strongly recommend this as a wheel chair access venue.
Set in a little walled garden / courtyard, you have two choices as you walk out of the gate ….turn right and be reminded of the more western presence so often seen in any large city….I recommend turning left and walk up towards the hospital, street food, bustle and a series of busy local trading streets. Take you choice.
Breakfast is simple, but fresh cooked and absolutely delicious. Choice of curries, but plenty of fresh eggs toast, fresh fruit (Papaya and watermelon)… coffee, tea juices….great value! The cook was happy if somewhat perplexed by my need for fat free cooking (I’m on a bit of a diet), but with total good grace produced a delicious range of “fat reduced” curries! (and let me watch him cook fresh Puri’s for breakfast).
By arrangement you can have a simple supper ( its just a question of the cook being aware), we had one delicious simple supper.
So there you have it a perfect, economical, clean, wheelchair accesable home from home in Chennai.
BUT that’s not the very best thing about Hanu Reddy Wallace Gardens. The very best thing was the gentle charm of the attentive staff who made this stay full of memories. You can get all the facilities, but the staff make all the difference, they were absolutely charming, cook, cleaner, handyman .. all lovely. But I guarantee your lasting staff member memory will be the thoroughly excellent Ramesh (Babu) who organises everything to make you sure your stay is perfect. He speaks great English, arranged all our airport pick ups (and sorted the price!) and returns, gave us advice on everything from local Catholic churches to local restaurant choices. He e mailed us prior to the trip to sort stuff out for pick ups and wheelchair … what a top bloke …. With a smile as wide as the Bay of Bengal!
For a simple , good value, homely stay …. This would totally be my recommendation
I stayed in a deluxe room for just a day on a business trip. I had heard a lot about this place earlier but this was the first time I stayed here. The room was very spacious and comfortable with complimentary wi-fi. Check in and check out process is among the fastest I have ever seen. Staff is very courteous and prompt. Breakfast is simple, tasty and healthy. And of course, it is in the prime location of Chennai.
We stayed in a deluxe room for a full week from 24th April 2016. We enjoyed a very comfortable and homely environment. The two most distinguishing features of the residence are its tasty, fresh food and highly well-mannered, helpful and responsive staff. The food was so good that during our stay we mostly indulged to over-eating. All the staffs are very helpful and courteous. The Manager Ramesh Babu is a chivalrous and resourceful person.
Proximity to Apollo Hospital is another plus point.
Located in the plushest part of the city, this guesthouse offers easy access to the rest of the city. The rooms belong to an art deco style bungalow which adds character. Large, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms add a touch of luxury. The simple, minimalist decor adds a sense of calm, a respite from the clutter and chaos of city life. The breakfast is delicious and tastes like a home-cooked meal. The guesthouse is managed by efficient staff who respond promptly to requests and is safe for solo travellers too.
The guesthouse is within walking distance of chic boutiques. The location is as good as it gets in Chennai. Slightly on the pricey side, the location perhaps justifies it.
We stayed here is a Deluxe room with an extra bed for 15 days. The staff is very courteous and responsive. We mostly ate here because they serve good quality, not overwhelmingly spicy food that one can afford to eat for long stays. Specially when you are visiting Chennai for medical reasons and health is your biggest concern.
WiFi was a little spotty for a few days but it worked most of the time. I will recommend this place. In fact we are already going to stay there in the coming months.
Great staff, very good and efficient manager, Mr. Ramesh Babu. I went to Chennai for US visa appointment. The major problem for me was local commutation. Manager, Mr Ramesh Babu helped me in communicating and negotiating the tarif for auto rickshaw and cab. It really helped a lot.
may dear it was very good traveler also a good hotel me and may family have nice and quiet days and it’s near bay Apollo hospital and the serves was perfect especially Mr. Gader and all your serves mane…. go forward may dear. Thank you very much A.Majeed
Stayed not once but twice, this year. Having to travel and stay alone, I am happy that I opted to stay here. Highlights of HRR, Poes Road, are its location ( located in the heart of Chennai city in a safe and secure area ) , neat and clean rooms ( especially clean and hygienically maintained washrooms ) with complimentary buffet breakfast, competitive tariff and very helpful, prompt and courteous service rendered by the staff. In particularly, the personalised attention and service by the Reservation team, Mr. Bhuvanesh, Mr. Praveen, Ms. Monica, Mr. Seemaan and Mr. Das deserves a special mention because it definitely contributed to a very comfortable and safe stay here. I appreciate Ms. Nirupama Reddy, CEO, for sparing her time to speak to me. My best wishes to her and the entire team of staff. Best Regards, Ms. Merlin, United Arab Emirate
My husband, daughter, myself along with both sets of our parents had the enormous pleasure of being hosted in the residencies in March. Our stay left precious little to be desired. If you thought it, it happened. Every aspect of our being out-of-town guests and our needs were not only catered to but anticipated. During our stay, beyond obvious needs like Internet, laundry and a refreshing cup of tea we needed cardboard boxes, after-hour snacks and travel arrangements – all of which were attended to with heart-warming good cheer and competence. Thank you Hanu Reddy Residencies team for an excellent time.
A very nice and friendly place. The rooms are similar but very clean. The stuff is so nice and friendly and helpfull. Food is delicious; we had dinner as well and it was great. It is like an oasis in the middle of overcrowded Chennai. And just few steps away is a very nice Roof bar where you can get really cold beer and good Drinks, which is not so easy to get in Chennai; just ask the stuff.
I can really recommend this place and we will come back.
Before we actually arrived at the Hanu Reddy Residences, Wallace Garden, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff preceded us.
Due to our arrival in the early hours of the morning, I had emailed ahead to book a taxi for an early morning tour I had arranged. I had an answer from Mr Ramesh Babu, that not only assured me of a warm welcome, but booked my taxi and arranged for a packed breakfast on the morning in question.
On or arrival at 02.30, the caretaker had us settled in our room without delay, the following morning a taxi was there and a packed breakfast for my wife and I was ready. Our stay continued to give a friendly and professional service from all of the staff.
The room had all we could want, great wifi, air conditioning, a comfortable bed, tea & coffee making facilities and a refrigerator.
Whenever we returned the room was always serviced. The breakfast had some great Indian choices plus an omelette, toast etc. if required.
There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance and we found it quite easy to walk into Mylapore, a good 60 minute walk, but a safe one. The hotel can book taxis and always gave us an indication of what we should expect to pay.
I recommend the Hanu Garden Residencies to any one wanting to spend some time in Chennai in a nice quiet area, accessible to everything and some very friendly staff that are always ready to assist. Mr S Ramesh Babu, really did go that extra mile to make it a most memorable stay.
My stay at Hanu Reddy Residences was perfect. The rooms are immaculately spotless, quiet and comfortable, and the staff are extremely accommodating, so much so that I extended my stay from 1 night to 4 nights total. The rooms have everything you need, including a fridge, comfortable beds, wifi, hot water and large bathrooms, and the street is silent at night so I slept very well during the entirety of my stay. The street also experiences little traffic in the day, so it was a real retreat from busy days in Chennai. There are two residences a moments walk away from each other on the same street. I stayed in the one away from the reception, but this was no problem. The rooms on the ground floor may feel a little dark than those on the upper stairs, but this is usual.
Hanu Reddy Residence is located in an attractive quarter of Chennai with trees around and less traffic – Walace Garden is the name of the area, and that’s a truly suitable description. We were offered a clean room with shower facility, enjoyed having some breakfast variety and loved to rest on the balcony on the first floor. We also appreciated eating and coffee shop facilities in just a couple of minutes walk nearby, nevertheless Hanu Reddy are cooking recommendable food by themselves (contact 2 hours in advance is necessary) and your food can also be served on the balcony, that’s great!
Furthermore a supermarket with a variety of food and non-food articles is in a 10 minutes walking distance.
Hanu Reddy offers a comfortable haven in Chennai. The staff are friendly and super helpful. They responded promptly to emails and organised airport transfers. Rooms are clean and comfortable with great wi fi reception, TV and best of all tea and coffee making facilities. Water also supplied. Shower has hot water and fresh towels. Room service is daily. Breakfast included and really hearty. This is a great choice for a comfortable stay in Chennai.
It’s a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to spend quality time with family. The aura and ambience surrounding the place was great. Well, being in state chief minister’s and superstar Rajnikanth’s vicinity gives a VIP feeling itself;-)
The place ranks 10/10 on my scale in following aspects-:
Excellent Support Staff
I could not believe that such greenery exists in a metro like Chennai. It’s so calm and quiet that you feel just like home. I would recommend it to fellow travelers with family for a stay there, that too at a decent price.
The hotel’s location is really nice. The room was nicely designed, spotless, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious; they will bring freshly cooked dosas, puri, and vadai until you can’t eat more. But it is the attitude of the staff that makes this an outstanding hotel. They are genuinely friendly and helpful, without being intrusive or irritating. Whenever we needed local information it was provided or sought out. When my partner was unwell, they put together a special breakfast and brought it to our room. Just perfect. I will certainly be going back.
The hotel’s location is (for India) quiet and convenient. The room was nicely designed, spotless, and comfortable. Three things should one consider for an abroad stay: 1. Comfort 2. Cleanliness 3. Good Service In all the three segments Hanu Reddy Residences touched my heart!! Last but not the least, staffs are really really very sincere & highly co-operative. All the BEST “Hanu Reddy Residences”!!
I stayed in 4 hotels in Tamil Nadu and these serviced apartments were the best experience. The food was amazing- home cooked – and the staff service outstanding. All rooms are spacious and very clean. I will be returning for a much longer stay.
I spent a few days here before and after my vegvoyages tour of South India. By the end of my time it felt like home, the staff were so welcoming and helpful, booking taxis and arranging meals at all hours. The included daily breakfast was the best of all on my tour served in a relaxing outdoor setting. Convenient location too. Highly recommended.
I stayed here for over three weeks and it was an awesome stay. The staff was extremely friendly and caring. The food was very good. The location is apt and right in the city close to all the offices and shipping areas. Seeman and the other staff were very caring. The rooms are well maintained.
Beautiful location right next to the CM’s Bungalow – large wedding parties occupied the residences while we were there – it was surprisingly quiet and pleasant despite that. Rooms are functional, neat and tidy. Wifi is available and room service is reasonable.
I recently stayed in Chennai at Hanu Reddy Residences in Poes Garden. I found the room comfortable and the staff very helpful. I recommend this place for a warm and more personal experience than a hotel.
I stayed here during November 2015. I was looking for something cheap and good and Hanu Reddy is the best option. It is located in Wallace garden which is a very posh area. At first I was not impressed looking at the apartment. But when I entered the room, it was amazing. They have renovated an old bungalow very well. The rooms are spacious and home like. I never felt that it was a guest house, the service and facilities are hotel like. The food is very homely. Less variety but very good.
Room and facilities are good. Service was excellent. Area where hotel is situating is calm and quiet area. Food is also good, but It is good to have a menu for lunch/dinner. Overall I got a good stay. Definitely will visit again.
One of the best hotel I have ever stayed in chennai…Clean rooms, beds were clean…toilet were neat and clean…AC was operating without any noise..Stayed for 4 days…Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the every morning. ..Room service was good and the stuff were always approachable..Wifi was also good….Food in restaurant was tasteful and minimally priced…Thanks to Mr.Praveen, manager who was always helpful and approachable..Near to some of tourist places of Chennai..Will visit next time for sure….
Excellent food. Very courteous staff…well kept property… Roof top garden was a pleasant surprise…conveniently located close to US and German consulate s.. Bathroom was spacious… Would have preferred the room to be slightly bigger.. Complimentary breakfast was delicious… Ac and fridge were in excellent condition
Reviewing on behalf of my parents who enjoyed their stay at Hanu Reddy Residences for the second time. The management and staff were courteous and ensured the guests enjoyed a homely atmosphere.
The location is also situated in a posh and quiet locality away from the noisy main roads.
Moreover, the management is very responsive to feedback and requirements of the guests. The warm and polite attitude of the manager needs to be pointed out. Would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the Hanu Reddy Residences – Poes Garden, from September 24th – October 05, 2015, and would like to share the following observations based on my personal experiences.
* I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, was able to focus on my work, felt safe and comfortable, and will definitely stay again at the Hanu Reddy Residences Poes Garden. This place is peaceful and serene.
* The organization has consciously and diligently developed a commitment to sincere customer service. This was most visible at every level, from management staff to food services, security, laundry, etc. The effort from each staff was very sincere, genuine and complete.
* I rarely had a concern, but when I raised it, the response was immediate and the concern was addressed completely. (WIFI issue on day 1 – the COO took the lead on this. The problem was rectified within a few hours, and I never had an issue for the rest of my stay).
* Whether you are a on a business visit or vacationing with your family, a stay at Hanu Reddy Residences – Poes Garden is worthy of serious consideration.
* To Ms. Nirupama Reddy, the CEO who leads from the front, and to each of the staff, a big Thank You for making me feel at home.

Excellent staff of amiable nature. Walking distance to Apollo Hospital for a complete health check up . The restaurant serves tasty food.It was a comfortable stay without any hassles .The Express mall was a few kilometers away. It was a good experience.
Excellent service, location and food. Good value for money. We went for medical purpose in Apollo and the hotel is just 2 min walking distance. The hotel is very homely and food is also homely and good in taste. The location is also good. In the evening we got some time an found some decent mall, restaurants are in walk-able distance.
We stayed here during our daughter’s wedding. It was ideal location also the exec suite we had booked felt like a home to receive guests and have family functions. we could book extra rooms as and when needed. The ability to order lunch and dinner was useful. Highly recommended and will visit again.
This apartment was a brilliant find. We had come to Chennai for medical purposes at the Sankara Netralaya and were not sure how long we would need to be in Chennai. This is not a hotel but a small, cosy, well designed guest house. The apartment was just 10 minutes away from the hospital. Plenty of autos around. The staff were exceptional and catered to our every request without any issues. The rooms and toilets, dining area and small hall are very very clean. The atmosphere pleasant and homely. We had dinner all 3 nights we were there. The food was excellent. And I liked the idea that the chef prepares what you ask for. Just as one would do in your home.
We stayed 2 nights with 2 kids in August 2015. Very good hospitality with the very friendly staff and us. Clean and large room. Very Good breakfast. Wifi worked fine and fast. Nice place for staying few days in Chennai.
I have been a frequent guest at the hanu reddy residences, wallace gaden chennai, and it has indeed been a home away from home while in chennai. Recently, I had traveled along with my wife and daughter on 22nd august 2015 and stayed for 2 nights. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. The staff are very friendly and courteous, and they go to extra lengths to make us feel comfortable. Management executives Mr Ramesh Babu, Mr Sendhil, and Mr Ranjan the cook, need special mention here.
We(me & my wife)have our old parents with us,after operated in Appolo Hospital..Thanks Hannu Reddy For their true hospitality, the staffs are really good and they co operated with us,each and every time when they require…Thanks Hannu Reddy..Keep it up the great hospitality
Clean rooms and amenities (Bathroom and toilet was clean, AC and TV working)
Good and tasty break-fast (Idly, Dosa, Poori, Bread-Omlet, Fruits)
Balcony available (Bamboo chair and table).
Wifi is fast.
Close to US Consulate
No outdoor space to dine.
Visitors are not treated as GUEST. They are treated as their family. So homely atmosphere and hatsoff to their hospitality. A very good team work and extrardinary customer satisfaction.
FOOD….homely food, what you request and the way you wanted would be presented. Taste is also too good.
Rooms are too good and not so big as well too small. What is needed is kept.
Location : heart of the city. We can reach all the places quickly.
Best: Satisfied fully on cost, facility and food. And least is Smoke free environment so smokers will avoid.
What could we ask for more. Praveen at reception was a thorough gentleman and made sure every wish was honored. My umpteen requests for reservation amendments were patiently taken. Food was excellent, high five the chefs who turned out such delicious, wholesome treats every day. The koel birds woke us up in the mornings and we enjoyed the green cover as the day progressed and roasted the rest of chennai. The stay was Perfection topped with a free parting gift of organic benganapalli mangoes for me and family, who hadn’t,t eaten a decent Indian mango in a decade.heartfelt thank you to management and staff, we will not stay anywhere else, next time we are in chennai.
We celebrated my daughter’s wedding in Chennai and used HRR Poes Garden for a majority of the overseas guests. We had a wonderful stay primarily due to:
Great location – centrally located in Chennai tucked away in a quiet spot – close to restaurants and shops
Superb ambiance – the grounds were well maintained and clean – lots of foliage
Friendly and helpful staff – very responsive, always with a smile!
We would certainly go back there!
Location is quite peaceful room have all the amenities, beds are very clean , curtains are maintained , room ambiance is good pros… personalized fresh cooked food Just opposite to Rajnikants Villa
Stayed for 5 nights. Safe and lovely place to stay for a family or for that matter on a business trip. Excellent staff, always ready to genuinely help. I would very strongly recommend this place to anyone.
I stayed in Hanu Reddy residences Poes garden Chennai. hygene, safe, easy accessible to other offices, near to public transportation, competent front office, punctual staff, good management, comprehensively- a good place to stay. truly- A Home Away From My Home
Brilliant tranquil surroundings, slightly away from the hustle & bustle of Chennai city, yet located centrally. The highlight of the property is the hospitality thats endowed upon to each guest, who comes to stay at Hanu Reddy.
The true sense of Atiti Devo Bhava is felt enormously. Lovely homely setting, the birds chirping in the neighbourhood, which is otherwise a very happening one, with lovely plush stores and terrace cafes.
The hospitable staff serving delicious home cooked food is the icing on the cake.
We held our daughter’s first birthday party at the Hanu Reddy Residences, and a few of our guests stayed there as well. We highly recommend this space, both as a place for events (we had about 70-80 people), and also as a guest house/hotel. Mrs. Nirupama and her team did an amazing job, and ensured that everything went smoothly. She anticipated our needs perfectly during the planning phase, and also took great care of us during the party. The food arrangements were excellent. Our friends who stayed there had wonderful things to say about their rooms and the hospitality. Everything is neat, clean and well arranged. Highly recommend!
I stayed for one week and I never experienced absence of any thing starting from homely food, good environment, people worried about your comfort. It is situated in the heart of city and you can go shopping to most famous brands like kalanikethan, adidas, wills…
Best part is room full off all facilities that you can find in 3 star hotel.
Staff is so courteous and well cultured…
We were there for almost one week ,,Rooms are quite big when compared to other Hotels in Chennai .Located at one of the Posh areas of Chennai ,,Hotel is located in a calm & quiet area giving a vibe of Home kind feeling.I must tell you all staff especially Mr Ranjan are awesome in their service.Daily room cleaning and other amenities were provided ,,, you must try food available in their Kitchen ,Its awesome ,tasty and feel like its just cooked in home kitchen .Overall the experience was awesome and I convey my best wishes and I will definitely recommend to everyone .
I have been staying at Hanu Reddy Apartments almost 1-2 nights every week for last couple of months. For someone like me, who has to spend 5 days a week travelling, coming back to this place at the end of the day is a big relief. Here’s why:
Room: The rooms are of decent size and have been furnished with modern furniture. Room lighting is good and the washroom size is also quite ok. Mattresses are firm and comfortable. Room boasts of Tata Sky connection so that’s an advantage as I am familiar with it.
Location: Poes Garden…home to mighty and powerful. Right in the heart of city. Great location.
Food: The food preparation is quite good and on request the kitchen serves up food cooked with lesser oil, which is a boon. The breakfast is also ok – the usual Dosa, Idly, Parantha, fruits and juices. Have no complaints on this account.
Other amenities: It has a functional gym having basic equipments. Overall, the place has a certain class and it does not feel like a cheap serviced apartment. There is a certain amount of professionalism seen in the staff which is usually missing in serviced apartments. The Manager, Praveen, is very courteous and always willing to help out.
Rooms are clean, air conditioned and walkable to Apollo hospital. Food is from the kitchen and is really tastes like home made food, we liked the staff service as well who were very attentive and helpful
My family had the good fortune of staying Hanu Reddy’s for 4 days. As we checked in it was a pleasant surprise to find our rooms getting upgraded. Overall it was a very homely atmosphere and rooms were quite clean and tidy. The staff was very humble and supportive and the food was very good (pure vegetarian). The location of the hotel is also quite central with easy access to hub of Chennai. Will strongly recommend this place for a homely stay. Regards, Shankar
My parents and in-laws stayed in this facility during the visa interview. This facility is very good and very close to the visa office. I highly recommend. I think the cost if the lodging is little on the higher side, but convenience was important for us.
Was very happy to see Mr.Ranjan again, after 2 yrs.
We were 4 people, we stayed for 3 days & had all 3 meals at HRR itself. He took wonderful care of us, once more !!
Fantastic breakfasts & good value-for-money, for all meals.
The carrot halva was very good & all the curries were good, too. I have given some feedback on all the curries tasting the same, in the feedback form provided before checkout, but you really can’t get better value-for-money anywhere else.
Very homely atmosphere & we felt very comfortable because of the helpful staff, a/c, cable TV, hot water & all the facilities provided….HRR is truly a Home-away-from-Home….
Thank you all !! Second stay in HRR & we were very satisfied, again!
Stayed here for a couple of nights in the middle of May. First thing we liked was the location. very close to the core city areas but at the same time removed from the noise and congestion.
The rooms were very good and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Felt at home at this place. Did not get the feel of staying in a hotel.
Although I stayed here for 3 day, my in laws spent a week here after I left and they also had only good words to say. Would like to specially call out the staff members (whose names I took down) who ensured we had a pleasant stay and also attended to the special needs and requests. This was important as our stay was part of recuperation after a hospitalization.

Thank you all and looking forward to my next visit.
We have returned to this place for the fifth time (1st week of June) for a five nights stay and we loved it every time we stayed. Tucked away in a quiet corner in the heart of city with rain trees providing much needed greenery and shade.
Friendly staff and excellent service.
I celebrated my 30 th wedding anniversary there. Did not know that there is a place available like this. We had a great evening. Good was good and the staff was excellent in terms of service and on par with 5 star hotels.
Looking forward to an occasion to celebrate once again.
Ms.Nirupama Reddy who runs this place is excellent in negotiations.
I stayed in Hanu Reddy for 4 days. It was a wedding function and we has more than two villas booked. We saw most of the hotels but Hanu Reddy is what anyone is looking for. GREAT LOCATION, Motherly service, very supportive….every member in staff was co-operative and ready to serve. As it was a wedding, we bothered for a lot of things and we were served with equally big smile every time. This experience has ensured that from now on my every stay in chennai is gonna be in Hanu Reddy. Abhishek and Nirupama were the stars of my trip. Thank you guys for making this trip more special for me.
I was amazed at the service I received. I have not found that anywhere in India other than in a 5 star hotel. I was in Chennai for treatment and so the staff catered for every need and made my stay very easy and comfortable. Nothing was too difficult or impossible. A solution was always found. The environment is beautiful and green and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Chennai. The place was immaculate and great showers! Plenty of choice for breakfast and they even took special requests for dinner which were not on the menu. Have no complaints and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Chennai for whatever reason. The quality and service were 5 star. Good job!
Stayed here for more than 2 weeks. Absolutely loved it. The hospitality was excellent and we really enjoyed the stay. The staff were very cheerful and supportive. Food tasted just like home and they were very supportive of our specific requirements. House keeping was also excellent. Regards Govind
This was my third time stay in Hanu Reddy, Wallance Garden, Chennai. I stayed there for two nights. As usual, everything was as per the expectations. The best part of staying in this hotel is that one doesn’t feel that it is a hotel — it is just the extension of home.
The place is so beautiful, clean, full of gardens, rooms are big.. Food is so fresh, tasty and healthy. Staff are so disciplined, soft spoken all the times. Very economical and had a pleasant experience staying there.
It’s indeed the home away from home .my husband Mr Abhijeet has undergone liver transplant was in need of very hygienic residence as we had to stay there for a month , Hanu residence staff are very punctual about maintaince & hygiene with very warm service
I recently visited Chennai over the weekend and stayed at this hotel. What struck me is the tranquility and quiet this place exudes. Nestled away in a quiet, posh and secure locality its a home away from home.
It scores in the eversmiling service it provides. The front desk and all staff is extremely helpful and go all out to help you out any way they can.
All in all a very pleasant experience and I would definitely visit again .
Dr Smita Gupta, New Delhi
I’ve stayed at Hanu reddy Poes garden for a cumulative total of more than 25 days in the last 2 years whenever I had business in chennai.
Absolutely 5 stars for courtesy and service.
5 stars for ambience and room cleanliness etc.
-Breakfast spread can use a little bit of work.
Overall, extremely satisfied and will definitely be my first choice.
Just finished our third stay at Hanu Reddy in as many years. This is a beautifully managed bed and breakfast in a very accessible location in Chennai. The best thing about Hanu Reddy is its staff. There are some hotels where you know the staff are not treated well and it shows in their lack of enthusiasm for their work. Here, the staff is unfailingly friendly, helpful, and pleasant in a way that suggests that there is an overall atmosphere of kindness and fairness. The hotel itself has nice grounds and lovely terraces, so it is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of Chennai, especially if you are traveling with children. The food is also nice, love love love the sambar at breakfast.
A few visits ago, I found myself at a nearby restaurant without my wallet. The owner’s son came and rescued me by paying the bill. That’s how far Hanu Reddy goes.
What a lovely place to live in!!Apart from the Z-class security C/O Mrs Jayalalitha, this place has a charm of its own.Very centrally located in one of the poshest areas of Chennai.Cleanliness is something that strikes you at first sight. The shady, peaceful set-up is ideal for anyone and everyone.Food is AWESOME!!Simple, tasty and freshly prepared. For me,it was a post-surgery stay of almost 10 days and the kitchen staff catered beautifully to my personalized food requirements.Very decent and well-behaved staff!!And the proprietor’s personal interaction with the guests makes the place even more like a home away from home!!Lovely experience!!
I stayed here during April 2015 when I was on a Business trip to Chennai. The place is really calm and peaceful even after couple of minutes away from the busy Cathedral road. Also, the area is home to Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and hence the security is very tight. Mr. Praveen who is the receptionist / Manager does a wonderful job in making the guest feel at home. Food served here is good. Rooms are clean with Wifi facility. Will definitely stay here whenever I visit Chennai.
When we entered through the gates we felt like we were home. The warmth and professionalism of all the staff was immediately felt. We were guided to our room and were provided everything we needed for our stay. The food is amazing, the room provides all the comforts and it sure felt like home away from home after such a long journey from California, USA. We will definitely stay there again. Thanks you Ms, Reddy
Good area, Very good front desk staff ; especially the chap named Mr. Ranjan, very nice service. many restaurants around in walking distance. INR 100 to most of shopping malls, and shopping areas in tuktuk, Only negative is at day time there is sound of construction work from surrounding area. meals are OK.
hanu reddy residencies was such a pleasant suprise when we arrived, it was an unassuming place but the staff and the food made it very very special for us. The staff was alwyas courteous, ready to help our numerous needs and always very accomodative and served with a smile. The food was made to order and with fresh ingrediants, which made it difficult to order as you feel like having something, cos they had to buy the ingrediants and prepare and needed few hours advance notice but once served , it was worthwhile as the food was amazing. we loved it and it was healthy and tasty and fresh. Ranjan was always there to help our needs and attended to every call we made. Wonderful staff.
We had held a 2 day spiritual retreat and it was a very pleasant experience the location so peaceful ,the total ambiance was very nice and all the participants were very happy with all the arrangements. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Mrs Nirupama Reddy took a lot of interest in supervising the arrangements.and was very accomodating of our requests .
As the programme was for 2 whole days ,we felt the technical personnel could be better trained to cope with the problems with the projector and recording devices.
The food was good but could be kept hot during the 45 min lunch break.
Overall a very pleasant experience.
This was our second stay at Hanu Reddy Poes Garden. It’s a great place to stay in all the ways you’d expect: clean rooms, excellent food, well maintained. But the thing that made us want to return is the people who work there. The staff is the best of any hotel I’ve stayed in: warm, friendly, always ready to help with anything we need, day or night. We’ll definitely return.
We stayed there only for 1 night but the hospitality of the staff was great. We were given a spacious clean room and when we requested for an extension they understood our position and readily agreed. The food was great – simple, freshly cooked and delicious too. Will love to stay there again on our next visit.
The first look of the place was a little disappointing but once we rested,we started liking the ambience and the services as well.Staff are exemplary in the way they interacted with us.WE booked a Mini Suite and got a Presidential Suite….No-one’s complaining!!I Had to undergo a surgery and post-surgery care involved having oil-free pureed liquid diet.Hats off to the kitchen staff for catering to my personalized needs.Location is really great …the Khader Nawaz Khan Road which is right across has somw wonderful eating joints, salons and supermarkets. All in all,a very comfortable stay!!
The property has an ideal location. Though in the centre of the city, it is away from the maddening crowd and has a peaceful aura about it. The bathroom and the rooms were clean and the people were very helpful. A homely place, tastefully decorated. The food was delicious and the chef cooked up whatever we fancied! A memorable experience indeed. Would love to visit again.
Me, my wife and my son 2 years old stayed here in this property from Nov 3rd for 2 days. And we like to share our experience here… Excellent ambiance with calm and cool as like our Home, Friendly staff assisting with every aspect. Spacious rooms and especially neat and clean. Little more option in Break Fast menu can be impressive. My son enjoyed playing in the garden too. Not too expensive to be afforded that too located in the heart of the city Nungambakkam.
We came in for Apollo hospital from Bangladesh. It was only walking distance. There are number of cafe and food places around. Very convenient. Staff were very helpful. Place was clean.
Excellent location, courteous staff, value for money and a memorable stay. I would recommend the place to my friends and relatives without hesitation.Place is well maintained and clean under the direct supervision of Mrs. Nirupama Reddy their COO.
I am sure they have plans in place to upgrade the interiors & furnishings and add a bit more variety to their buffet breakfast.
I would keep staying here whenever I visit India, for sure.
My husband and I have just spent a holiday week (1/3 – 8/3/2015) at Hanu Reddy Residence, Wallace Garden. It was our third visit after 2 very short stays in 2013. We came back to Chennai and Hanu Reddy because we had such a good time in 2013. This time we were in room 15 which is in an “annexe” building just along the street from the main building. The room is simple but large with a king size bed. It has en suite bathroom, dressing room, air con, hot water and free wifi. Yes! In the room! Every traveller’s dream! Often hotels offer “free wifi throughout” but when you check in you are told it is only in the lobby. Not the case at Hanu Reddy. The room and bathroom are very clean. An especially good thing about Hanu Reddy is the quality of the food. Breakfast is included in the room price and is very generous. There is tropical fruit salad, a variety of Indian dishes including a daily special, omelette, cereal, toast with butter and jam, tea and coffee. Lunch and dinner are also available to order. We had dinner several times, always delicious Indian food, everything freshly cooked by the excellent chef. But really the best thing about Hanu Reddy is the staff. Ramesh Babu and his team are all helpful and friendly. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they are good at their jobs. Wallace Garden is in a quiet area of the city and in the last 2 years Nungambakkam has become cosmopolitan with good coffee shops and restaurants.
I have a 3 yr always on the run son. This is the best place to stay in Chennai of you want personalized services, clean and comfortable rooms.
The staff including the folks at the front-desk and the kitchen are very polite, helpful and always with a smile.
The fact that you have a wide range of good freshly-cooked food adds to the homely atmosphere.
These are more furnished apartments than a hotel. But Hanu Reddy Residences is very neat, clean & very pleasant place to stay while in Chennai. It is in a very quiet area. The place is close to The US Consulate and useful to those who visit Chennai for a US Visa.
The rooms are very clean and tidy. The service is good, and the reception staff are understanding, especially if you have to extend your Checkin/Checkout timings by a little.
I would come back here if I am in Chennai again
Was surprised by the hospitality provided by the support staff. The rooms were clean and most of the amenities were present.
Had a homely environment which was accentuated by the food that was served.
The location is also great, if the purpose of the visit is medical and related to Apollo hospital, as its at a stones throw distance.
Would book it again, if my purpose is the same as last time.
Stayed January 2015, travelled with family
We landed in Chennai as our first stop on an extended trip to Asia. Our plan was to recover from jet lag in a quiet and comfortable place which Hanu Reddy Residences was perfect for. The room was clean, large, comfortable and affordable. But the real value of the residences came when my wife and I both got sick and needed to adjust our plans. Hanu was able to move some things around and accommodate us for another night. Additionally, they helped us make contact with our next destination and make new travel arrangements. They were exceptionally helpful.
I have been staying in hanu reddy residence for 1 year now . The stay has been very pleasent as you feel homely beacuse of the hospitality provided by th in house team. I would recommend this home away from family
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, I should say the pictures they show here are real. The location is quiet, yet conveniently located, the ambiance was great, the staff so helpful. There are in fact 2 blocks, stayed in both. Yes, I would definitely recommend this home away from home. They seem to live up to their motto ‘Guest is God’.
We stayed here for two nights and had a really good experience overall. The room was spacious and the shared terrace and balcony a nice add-on. The staff was helpful and obliging.
The neighborhood has several food options and massage places (of varying quality).
The hotel is in the bylines on Khader Nawaz road in Wallace garden. Do not try to locate it on your own. Explaining the location to a cab could be a pain if you do not know Tamil. Call up the residence and get them to speak to the cab or auto whether coming from the airport or coming in from city sightseeing. Having said that, the place is very central to all tourist points in chennai. Autos are easily available , possibly because of the Apollo hospital in another lane closeby. The area is clean and upscale with many eating options. The staff , as mentioned in other posts, is very courteous and ever willing to help. Wifi is good. The room we stayed in, number 5 was simple , no frills, had a refrigerator and good aircon, large bathroom. Windows open onto the lane with lot of trees. Sufficiently quiet though. Lovely verandah on the first floor where we would sit and have coffee.
The staff were very helpful especially Ranjan. Spacious, comfortable rooms (although we felt it was overpriced), tasty breakfast. We left our baggage behind when we went to Mumbai and it was safe. Our stay was comfortable and the quiet neighborhood was a pleasant addition. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to other travelers.
Senthil is incredibly helpful. Reasonably priced. Wi-fi wasn’t especially fast. Useful as a relatively central budget option. Complimentary breakfast was nice; dinner / room service is a convenient option.
I recently stayed at Hanu Redy, Wallace Gardens for two weeks while working on a film. The staff was always attentive and helpful. The meals were very authentic and delicious south Indian cooking and the room was comfortable. I would definitely stay there again when coming to the area.
Charming place, courteous service and excellent breakfast … well connected to all business areas and shopping …
An old world charm with spacious showers … a quiet neighborhood well shaded and many good restaurants nearby…
We were in Chennai for my daughter’s wedding. We needed a place to stay as well as put up our daughter’s friends from overseas. I am so happy we chose this hotel. The hall and courtyard was perfect to have the mehendi and haldi ceremonies as well as to serve food for all the guests. the informal atmosphere made us feel so much at ease. It was like having the whole place to ourselves. Nirupama and her team were very cooperative, accommodating and helpful in providing us round the clock service. The entire staff had a good friendly attitude.I would highly recommend this property to anyone planning to host their wedding guests. Generally the hotel is safe and close proximity to CM’s residence ensures a high level of security. The landscaped terrace became a favorite hangout for all the youngsters.
I wish Nirupa and her team all the best.
This was my second stay at Hanu Reddy Residences, Wallace Garden, Chennai. We stayed there for 8 nights. My overall experience was very good. My journey was related to my medical treatment at Apollo Hospital. I must mention that Hanu Reddy Residences extended me all the required assistance. I really appreciate nice behavior of staff, especially of Manoranjan.
The location is brilliant. You don’t feel like you are in chennai. The staff are extremely helpful and respectful and the levels of service are outstanding. To top it all it is total value for money.
I would recommend anyone who would like to host a party to do it here or if you are not from chennai it is a great place to stay as the rooms are superb. Ideal even for people from chennai who would like to accomodate their guests from out of town.
Not your every day chain hotel. It is between a full service high rise hotel and a B&B. What you give up in terms of “haute” service and amenities, you get back in a personal and very traditional Southern Indian hospitality – the owner is on the premises most of the time. The rooms are spacious and the staff always willing to assist. Rooms are grouped in separate buildings, each with its own common areas to spread out. As in old time Mardas, the dinner ends early, although there are many eateries within a few minutes by cab, and even one round the corner. The staff will call an ubiquituous ‘auto’ for you if you ask. Or they will cook up some custom food, if you give them enough notice. Breakfast is sumptuous but quite Indian. They even have a gym to burn the extra calories. This place may not be for you if you are looking for 5 Star hotels and are strictly Western in your diet. But if you are looking for a good place at a reasonable rate and warm service, I highly recommend this place.
Everything was pretty good…we didn’t have any problems during our stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is good, but seems to be almost the same every day (which was fine for us, as we only stayed 2 nights). It’s in a quiet neighborhood and seems to be very safe (there is a guard 24/7). However, there is not very much in the area in terms of food. We ordered room service and it was good – but order early as it takes a while to prepare. There is also a small gym which is clean and suited our needs. Overall it was a fine stay. There was a small issue regarding our shower not getting very hot, but everything else was good.
I stayed at Hanu Reddy Poes Garden for two weeks and loved it. It is a quiet and serene space in the middle of Chennai, where one can really relax. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a nice bathroom. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious – I opted for the Indian meals, though western style is also available. A very big drawcard for me is the beautiful roof terrace, where one can sit quietly under a tree and catch the cooling breeze. I made it a morning ritual to go up there with my coffee.
However, what makes this place truly special is the staff. They are, without exception, willing to go to any lengths to ensure their guests’ comfort, and always with a smile. I felt so at home that it was quite difficult to leave. I definitely recommend this quiet, tranquil, safe, beautiful place to anyone visiting Chennai.
We stayed here for five nights during November. A very homely place with caring and efficient staff who were most helpful and informative. All staff played their part and we felt everyone wanted to be of help, nothing was to much trouble. The bedroom was extremely clean and comfortable with a luxury bathroom. Breakfast a dream with an excellent choice of food.Cannot recommend this place highly enough
This is situated in a quiet but good location. We stayed here as part of a wedding party. The rooms are spacious and clean. The outdoor area is tranquil and very green. There is the problem of mosquitoes, but several measures have been taken to avoid any inconvenience to guests. Breakfast choices are good, and the staff is polite and helpful. On the whole a very good place to stay in Chennai for not a lot of money.
There are not enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was at Hanu Reddy Poes Garden, Chennai.
It’s not just the location (pretty much right in middle of Chennai) and lush tropical greenery that makes us rave about this place, its the people that work there and the hospitality they showed us, that will bring us back every time.
My wife and I have been lucky enough to travel to a few countries in the last couple of years, but this place stands head and shoulders above any other hotel we’ve stayed at in our travels.
Everything they do seems to be driven by a standard of customer service that we have never seen before.
From Yuvraj and Femina who always greeted us with a smile, and did everything they could to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible, to Saravanaraj, Raginath (master dosa maker), Prakash, Abhishek and Samerdan who made our breakfasts the most delicious meal of the day, and not to forget Dass who worked reception at night.
This all seems possible thanks to the guidance of their leader Mrs.Nirupama Reddy, who leads by example the standards seen in her staff.
Not to understate the large size of the rooms, and general homeliness that this place exudes, but our memories of our stay at Hanu Reddy will always rest with it’s people.
Thank you so much to all the Hanu Reddy staff for being the highlight of our vacation in India.
We felt treated very well. Reception was good. The accommodation is good and maintained well. Staff has been very polite and helpful. We got real good value for money. Breakfast was served well and was good. Thank you for wi-Fi. We intend using the facility on our future visits to Chennai and strongly recommend it to my friends.
Convenient for the airport, bus station. Feel ‘non hotel’ with comfortable rooms in a bungalow with garden. Privacy, peaceful, South Indian breakfast was fantastic! In the same area are restaurants, boutique. Apollo Hospital is nearby and well known local hospital, so getting back to Hanu Reddy is easy, just mention Apollo.
Its basically a service apartment. Although located a deep inside, but is a place worth staying. The staff is very courteous, helpful and well mannered. The room quality is great, the amenities are also good . Overall a pleasant stay.
We had a good time staying at both the “Poes Garden” and “Wallace Garden” facilities. The Poes Garden facility was good and spacious, nice South Indian breakfast and good parking facilities. For people who travel with drivers for their cars, I would suggest that you provide driver accomodation for the night.
Wallace Garden staff were very helpful and we were provided with a place for the driver to sleep in this facility. If this can be done for Poes Garden as well, it would be good. Overall, the experience was good and we would consider coming back to this place next time around.
We stayed at this hotel from 10th October 2014 to 17th October 2014. Environment of this hotel is too good. Pure homely environment. Staffs are well mannered and well behaved. Room quality and room service was also good. Well furnished and well decorated living place. Food quality was excellent and food were cooked and served as per our requirement. We would like to stay at Hanu Reddy Residence when we visit Chennai again.
Recently my in-laws were residing in the property for a week for a check-up at the Apollo. And since they were in Chennai alone for the first time, we were a little worried about their stay. We had booked this residential hotel after reading through several good reviews…and it stayed up to its reputation. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The Executive Admin Mr. S Ramesh Babu responds readily to emails answering queries (which is quite rare feat in India, if one is not booking exclusive hotels!). My in-laws were all praise about the other staff members at the hotel…much needed for senior citizens and also otherwise. Conveniently located, it is a good place to stay when in the city.
We are a couple with a baby girl. we stayed at the hanu reddy wallace garden gor four nights. the staff was very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. the room was tidy and was cleaned daily. the breakfast was amazing – excellent food, one of the best breakfasts i’ve had in india. i couldn’t find such a good uttapam in the next three months i spent in tamil nadu. we were treated with care and were made to feel at home. i highly recommend staying there.
The most important quality about this hotel is the fact that the staff are so lovely, friendly and constantly try to make your stay most pleasant! If they are not able to do something within the timeframe you want, they will provide you with options and facilitate the process of getting exactly what you need! Kudos to the staff. This fact by itself is reason to stay at Hanu Reddy Residences, Wallace Garden again … which I definitely will.
Apart from this, the food is superbly delicious and freshly made! Even the Dal Fry is so good you wouldn’t mind eating it without another side dish. Of course, you need to give the kitchen a heads-up so that they can prepare the food in time!
Other than that, the hotel is peaceful, the rooms are clean, spacious and the bathrooms are enormous! It also comes with amenities such as soap, shampoo, tooth brush, tooth paste, shower caps, fresh towels and even an additional comforter in case you need one. The location of the hotel is very nice and the hotel lobby has greenery and Indian sculptures that give it a lovely ambience.
All in all, it definitely is an affordable 5 star experience! Will definitely stay here again in the near future. Both my husband and I absolutely adore the hotel.
Great location, right in the heart of Mylapore. Streets surrounding the Residence are quiet and full of trees. Driving into the complex felt like a mini oasis in a very crowded and busy city. Though this is not a luxury hotel, it is very homey. The rooms are good in size and the deluxe room bathrooms are very nice. Breakfast is very good. Twice we ordered other meals, giving a 2 hour notice, and the food was excellent. In each building, what was nice is a common room, where one can entertain friends and family. This was very convenient in greeting our visitors. But best of all were the staff. They were very friendly, eager to help and genuinely caring. This goes without saying for Ms. Nirupama Reddy, chief operating officer, who was available on site for any help one may need or just to have a good conversation with. This personalized experience is worth a lot more than any luxury hotel can offer. I would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.
Despite the little breakfast we had, we really Enjoyed every day so much that we will miss these kind and smiling people.
Mr Raj, Mr Yuraj and Mrs Femina and the other staff of the hotel were always helpful to us. It was close to the city center. The garden of the hotel was like a small botanic garden that made us feel like at home. Thank you for everthing.
This is a neat place located centrally. Reasonably priced. Nothing fancy but a neat and clean place. However, due to its location near to TN biggies, getting public transport like auto etc can be an issue. Also, due to high security in the area, in case of political trouble, can be very disruptive to your plans. There are no nearby restaurants (walking distance). However, The food in the attached restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Lot of parking place, so if you are driving down, no issue. Overall a good place to stay. Value for money.
A good accommodation overall, clean, safe and pleasant environment. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was simple and has room for improvement. Otherwise ,I will certainly return to stay at this place. The other area for improvement is the availability of snacks at the dining area noting that this is a relatively small scale operation and its hard to have meals served promptly when ordered due tot he possible lack of guest staying at any one time. Snacks plus coffee and tea made available at a reasonable price at the dining area would make this place more inviting and stay much more pleasant.
Thanks to the hotel management for waiting till 11pm for check in. Rooms (Deluxe) are well maintained. Staffs are courteous & helpful. Food served is fresh. Location is excellent for attending Apollo Hospital.
1. Calm and peaceful locality.
2. The building is one of those old type constructions. Has a sturdy feel to it and well maintained. For folks like me who hate hotel rooms ["boxed-in oxygen-depraved a/c-mandatory" types], this was a welcome change. The rooms are airy. The ground floor room we stayed in overlooked a small nice garden too.
3. Food was served hot, on time. Food was simple as per our wishes and tasty too.
4. Staff are polite and very helpful. When I needed to take some urgent print-outs, they obliged by providing the printer. I was very thankful for that; Couldn’t imagine running around to find a browsing center with the hurry that I was in.
5. Good restaurants in walking distance such as delhi highway and kryptos.
6. Free wifi
7. Large bathrooms.
8. Prompt service.
The so-so and not-so-ok:
1. Photos on website need to be a little more closer to reality.
2. The website needs to clearly specify separately what facility each type of room (standard, deluxe, suite) has.
3. The decor in rooms could do with some minor facelift
I stayed at this property in the first week of September, 2014 for six nights. I had booked two deluxe rooms. Rooms were nicely maintained and cleaned. We reached there around 12:00 am as our flight got delayed. We had ordered for the dinner before hand, and they kept the food for us — it was really nice gesture. This property is very close to Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, it just takes 4-5 minutes to reach there. Also, there are some good restaurants in the vicinity. As a matter of fact there is nothing far away from this property, still the surroundings are very calm and quiet, especially in the night.
All the amenities were functional. Wi-fi was working properly. On the top of everything, I must appreciate break-fast, lunch and dinner we enjoyed during our stay there. Initially we had thought that we would eat somewhere else, however after enjoying lunch on the first day, we had all our meals at Hanu Reddy residences. As we had strict dietary restrictions, food was cooked as per our specifications.
Staff was excellent — Ranjan, Ramesh Babu, Amar, Senthil all were very helpful.
I hope to stay again at this property during my forthcoming visit.
We were in Chennai at start of august and stayed at Hanu Reddy Residences for a few days. We found it as an oasis in the crowdy-polluted & noisy Chennai. All the staff is kind and efficient but a special mention deserves Mr Ramesh who was really helpful, kind and friendly to us. The warm welcome and the honest price, is a good reason to visit this place.
Stayed at Wallace Garden during Aug last week. It is ideal location for those visiting US Consulate. The staff were very courteous and there service was very prompt. It is centrally located and it is really “home away from home”
I have been repeatedly staying here . The place and service is very homely , A very good place to stay if you are on a business trip an also if you intend to stay for a long period . The services of the staff is excellent specially Mr Ramesh , Ranjan & Phashant . It is very centrally placed , there are many cafe’s and restaurants near by
Such a wonderful experience staying at Hanu Reddy’s Poes Garden residence. The staff was beyond warm and welcoming. I made sure to have breakfast there every morning and enjoy some tranquil time with the serving staff. Fahmina, the day-to-day manager, was wonderful and made sure all of my needs were taken care of, immediately (which is somewhat difficult in India). The sambar and egg dosa for breakfast was a favorite of mine. The grounds were clean and fully stocked. The surrounding area is in one of the safest areas in Chennai. I never felt unsafe and found myself wandering around many days and nights. At times it even felt safer than other large metropolitan cities (I live in one). Personal care was taken to make sure our stay was pleasant and I look forward to our next visit.
I stayed here for 2 days(1 night)
Please note it is not a hotel but a residence apartments build in the form of hotel. It manages to give you a feel of the hotel. Overall it is good and lush green. The rooms are clean with the amenities provided. The staff is good and cooperative. though at the time of booking there were some glitches. The price is also good.
It is more likely a home than a hotel. It offers all modern amenities with a natural trace. The grand entrance, surrounding natural beauties and bird chirping would make anyone feel of splendid staying at peaceful home. The rooms were precious enough and well maintained, neat and clean. We were two families and traveled for medical purpose. Both Chennai Sankar Netralaya & Apollo hospital are very close to it. The overall service was great as all of the staffs are very helpful and friendly. So I would highly recommend anyone to stay here who wish to visits Chennai for any purpose
No words can describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Hanu Reddy Residences – Poes Garden. During our three week trip to India, we used Chennai as our base and stayed at Hanu Reddy PG every time we returned to Chennai from our side trips.
Hanu Reddy PG is serene and quiet yet you are just a short distance away from the chaos of the city. The service is excellent. We were well taken care of the by the staff. They are extremely helpful and are there to answer any questions you may have. The included breakfast buffet is a delightful way to start your day. The filter coffee in the morning was something to look forward to.
Lunch and dinner can be ordered from the in-house menu but they need ample notice since it is not a commercial kitchen. The food is home style cooking and everything is made ‘from scratch’ by the in-house staff.
The MD, Nirupama Reddy, greets the guests every day and will answer all your questions. Nirupama and her staff make you feel very much at home.
We recommended Hanu Reddy Residences to our friends who joined us toward the end of our stay. They too only had good things to say about the place.
At the reception entrance is a plaque that says “Guest is God” and Hanu Reddy Residences lives up to that statement. It was our home away from home and we look forward to staying there when we visit Chennai next.
The hotel is in a excellent location where some of the big names call it a home. The rooms are spacious and very well kept with all the amenities. The best part of this hotel is the design. A corridor full of trees & flowers welcome you, feels like a stay in the resort. The staff are very courteous and the breakfast was good too. It is in close proximity to all main attractions in Chennai. Elliot Beach & Marina beach is ~4km and so is TR Nagar, a famous spot for shopping.
I would definitely want to come back to this hotel.
Excellent location and an oasis in the middle of chaos in Chennai. Very private and secluded and quiet. Excellent large rooms with clean bathrooms on par with major hotels for a significant less cost. The service was excellent as was food. Will recommend this to anyone who wants an alternative to a hotel especially for an extended stay
Had a very pleasant stay, great facility, good customer service.. very nice breakfast
I had 4 families friends and students also stay here as w prepared for a stage concert
everyone was very happy as well with the service.
Iys a beautiful setting, the rooms are spacious and clean, no mosquitoes
wifi was a little spotty at times, other than that it was like home away from home.
- Stayed August 2014, travelled on business
An amazing place to stay, relax and work. The ambiance is wonderful, makes you feel like home. The owner is a wonderful lady who will go out of her way to make things comfortable and as per your liking.
This was a decent residence for my 2 days (1 night) stay. Note that this isn’t a “hotel” but a residence i.e. private property posing as a hotel. So expect that if you book this!
I checked in early morning at 5 AM and was entertained well… the staff was helpful.
The room I was allotted was just OK and in front of the reception (near Kitchen, since it’s a residence) so there was some noise in the evenings, specially during dinner time when the Kitchen is busy. It didn’t bother me much but the room didn’t have any complimentary drinking water, the mini-bar fridge was empty, towels had to be requested initially(were provided promptly). I was fairly busy and didn’t spend much time in the room in the daytime so my review is limited to that.
They have a restaurant but I didn’t eat there… the prices on the menu looked fairly decent though.
Stayed here as part of a wedding party. Very comfortable rooms. It’s located in a posh but quiet part of the city. My room was on the ground floor in one of the buildings. It was clean and was fully provided with appropriate amenities. Wonderful south Indian breakfast with Dosa and eggs made to order. The only one little hitch was the wi-fi in our room was poor as it didn’t have very good reception. Otherwise it was a wonderful two nights and would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.
Stayed here as part of a wedding party. Most of the other guests were in separate buildings while we stayed in the small building with reception. The doors and windows don’t keep out any sound which prevented us from sleeping in our first opportunity in a week. Staff can be heard taking and laughing outside window, staff members watch TV in the lobby late in the evening, and staff can be heard sorting silverware in the lobby in the early morning. Huge bummer. Otherwise, comfortable, clean accommodations
We (a group of about 35 people) used the premises for a wedding in June 2014. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the wifi works well. They also have enough space to hold functions and weddings. The location is also quite central, and very green.
The staff were courteous, non-intrusive and did everything possible to help us out. Would recommend staying here.
In a quiet part of the city yet not so far from the main cathedral road this place offers a good accommodation mainly with a good value for money. The staff is very helpful, kind and friendly. The entrance is full of green with sound of “tropical” local birds and the rooms are clean and tidy. The cleaning service is available every day with change of sheets on demand! which personally i found unique. Breakfast is good regarding the indian specialities and if you like international breakfast you can always ask to be served an omelette for example. It was a pleasurable 2-weeks time for me staying at hanu reddy.
The service here were excellent and the staff were all courteous! What i like most is the attitude and the good vibe from this place which makes their guest feels welcome! Do note that the breakfast area may not be in the same building but its just about 25 steps away! Would definitely love to come back here once again!
We had a wonderful stay at Hanu Reddy (Wallace Garden). We started our trip in South India here and were so overwehelmed by the staff’s loving Service, that we changed our plans to come “home” once again before leaving India!
Awesome experience at Hanu Reddy. We began and ended our family getaway in Chennai wtih a tour of India in between. Our favourite accommodation of all the locations we stayed at was Hanu Reddy. It was simple, clean, comfortable, hospitable and homely. Once we began touring, we couldn’t wait to get back to our ‘home away from home’ in Chennai. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin and end our journey.
Other positives from a tourist’s perspective: located in downtown Chennai without the traffic and pollution right at your doorstep. Excellent shopping and restaurants accessible on foot. Homestyle Indian breakfast is included daily. Washing machine located in our room!
All the best to the employees working there, may your business continue with success!
Stayed at hanu reddy residences for short 1 day layover at chennai. The staff were very helpful in helping me check in at an odd hour. The rooms are average but comfortable. You get maximum worth for the money you paid. The location is really good with not much noise, pollution or traffic. Also the staff were cordial enough to arrange a taxi for me to the airport. I would highly recommend this place.
Had been to Chennai last week with wife and daughter, and had booked at Hanu Reddy through MakemyTrip. The primary reason for booking was that it was close to Sankara Nethralaya eye hospital (where my daughter had an appointment), and the prices were quite reasonable. This place combines the best of a hotel and a guest house and the result is that you feel very much at home here. This is primarily due to the staff here who are extremely courteous and helpful. You really do feel like a special guest here (and not a mere customer). It’s located at the heart of the city (Nungambakkam) and yet tucked away in a quiet and green corner, away from the noise of the traffic. Located very close (walking distance) to hospitals like Apollo and Sankara Nethralaya . The room (we had a Deluxe room) was nice, clean and spacious with all the amenities that you expect from a top hotel. The best part however was the food, which came as a nice surprise. Even though they don’t have a typical ‘restaurant’, they do have a proper menu and serve food in a nice room that’d remind you of your own dining room at home. You have to order some 2 hours in advance (since they cook it specifically for you from scratch). We wanted food that was not spicy (no chillies) and less oil and it was cooked exactly as per our needs; and yet was very tasty. Would definitely recommend eating here if possible. The prices are also very reasonable. Overall a very nice and pleasant stay and I’d definitely look to stay here next time I visit Chennai.
Many things work positively for the property:
a) excellent location – in Wallace garden, off KNK Road, behind Apollo Hospital and close to CBD
b) good service/staff – personal attention, welcome you when you come back next time, willing to deal with special request (e.g. iron/iron board in room)
c) Nice property – old house, tastefully done up, has just about anything you need for a short stay
d) excellent wifi – complementary, good speed, no need for any other internet access
e) closeby restaurants – so many choices for food, you barely need to walk out. You will find something for everyone,
f) car park facility, in you have a vehicle
Me and my mom were in Chennai for our visa interview at the US consulate, and being one of the well-reviewed and nearest hotels, we picked Hanu Reddy Residences at Wallace Garden. We stayed there for two days and had a wonderful experience. The staff members were very courteous and the room service was excellent. Manager Ramesh Babu deserves a special mention for his help. It is little tricky to find Hanu Reddy Residences at Wallace Garden, and I had to call Mr Ramesh several times, and he listened and guided us with utmost patience. Overall, the environment is very peaceful and if you need a quiet and cool place to stay where you can escape from the Chennai heat, this is the place to be. Complimentary breakfast was good, but we had better. The dinner service was excellent. The food was yummy and they took special care of my mom’s diet. We will visit this place again. Highly recommended!!!
We stayed in a deluxe room for 10 days. We found this place because we wanted a place close to Apollo Hospital. I am so glad we found this. Room is very comfortable. Staff are cordial and efficient. Room service is very good. The surroundings are very quiet (in spite of a construction going on next door). It is so close to Nungambakkam road and Khadar Nawaz Khan road. Good eateries and shopping nearby. The complimentary breakfast is something to look forward to . The free wi-fi was a huge help to keep in touch with office work too. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends going to Chennai and looking for a comfortable place to relax and go around the city from.
I just wanted to give a try at home stay rather than regular business hotels. It was a wonderful experience at Hanu Reddy Residence. Room was clean, good and had all that is needed. Good Hospitality and staff members were very courteous.Complimentary breakfast was very good. The location is very serene and at times, I questioned myself – Am I in Chennai or in Bangalore? I’m talking only about the greenery and not the weather
Overall, it was like a home away from home.
The best value for money in Chennai. I went there for college counseling and was pleased at the homely nature of Hanu Reddy Residences. The rooms were spacious and large and the food was well prepared. as a bonus they provided free wifi with speeds upto 10Mbps. Overall i would stay here if i visited again!
The place is clean, comfortable and conveniently located for people planning to have a long treatment at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road. The best part of staying at Hanu Reddy was the good quality of food offered.
Hotel is very good property. Rooms were good. Staff is very helpful. As per the hotel policy check-in time is 2PM. They accepted us for early check-in. That is great service. Morning breakfast is very good. Thanks to the lady who was there in breakfast section. Thanks to Antony who excelled in getting WiFi to me. Thanks to Saravana Raj for his quick replies to my emails.
I visited Chennai once again and had no hesitation to stay at HRR as my past experiences were great. The staff was courteous, prompt and attentive as usual. Assistance was always available when required. The Food was good and palate catered to
Good things about this property are as under: 1. Location is very good, peaceful and posh. 2. Rooms size, decor, AC, Bathroom and bed are good. 3. Room service is good. 4. Break fast is good. 5. Overall it is a good homestay at the tariff of Rs. 2750.00 I paid per night.
Very good experience. Very helpful Staff Ranjan & Manager. Close to both Apollo Hospital as well as US Consulate. The food was very homely & reasonably priced. We will always prefer Hanu Reddy Residences for our future visits also. I really hope that this high standard will be maintained in future. I highly recommend this property
I stayed at this quiet, safe and conveniently located residence for 10 days in March 2014. The rooms are large, nice and well equipped. Air condition is excellent. The place is clean and well maintained. The breakfast is served in the dinning area and offers a good selection of dishes. It is freshly prepared in their own kitchen and is served fast in a friendly and polite manner. Lunch and supper are also available. The staff if helpful and provides great hospitality specially Mr Ranjan whose helpful attitude and excellent English made my staying there easy and pleasant.
I was in Chennai for some days in February and I had a room in this pretty hotel for three days.
the hotel is very quiet and in a very busy city it is so important.
The hotel staff is always kind and helpful. I want to mention mr Ranjan that helped us a lot to solve some issues
The room are clean, and the rooftop balcony is a pleasant place
A nice home not far from airport with efficient and warm staff. The rooms are nice, (i stayed on 1st floor), with all amenities. The place is well kept. 1st floor also has a lovely common balcony to lounge. They have a little dining space too. The breakfast is sumptuous, freshly made in the kitchen with great, warm service and taste
First of all I would like to express my sincere wishes to all the personnel `s of the said property , specially Mr Ramesh, Mr Sentil & Ranjan with their warm , cordial , kind and helpful behavior with my family during my stay at there. Food was very good specially breakfast served as per our demand. Cleanliness of room was up to the mark . Overall it was a very safe and hassles free stay there with my family
is very good hotel & the place is very clean and neat.
all the stuff are really kindly & helpful. me & my wife enjoyed staying at the hotel..
Rooms at the Best Point Hotel are comfortable and feature a flat-screen TV.
High-speed Internet is available at this hotel. Wireless internet on site.
My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our stay Hanu Reddy. We had two large en suite rooms which were clean and comfortable with all one needed for a pleasurable stay. The breakfast was good and the staff really friendly and helpful. Hanu Reddy is great value for money and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
The place is very clean and neat..very well managed. Rooms are cleaned daily. The best thing.. It is just next to k n k road with all the best restaurants in chennai.
The boys there are very helpful.
No hassles with check in or check out.
This is my second stay here. The rooms were good and adequate size. Cleanliness was good and the staff are warm. They do provide complimentary homely breakfasts . Along with wifi and the room tariff it’s a great deal.will definitely return
Very pleasant stay and very good value for money. Chennai was our arrival city in India and the Hanu Reddy staff were extremely helpful in assisting us with everything. Suggestions where to go, transport etc. Rooms were spacious and clean. Only good words to say about our stay.
The place is clean, comfortable and conveniently located for people planning to have a long treatment at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road. The best part of staying at Hanu Reddy was the good quality of food offered.
In feb we came to chennai for lasik check-up in shankar netralaya, we selected Hanu Residency because it is very nearer to jkc shankar netralaya. We are so satisfied with the Services.we feel like Home , staff is too gud very supportive. Food is just like Home. We will definitely choose again.
We stayed here for over a week with our extended family for my sister’s wedding. The staff did a wonderful job of looking after us and were always prepared for the variously timed arrivals and departures of our guests. They helped us arrange taxis to and from the airport and answered all our queries always with a smile and a helpful answer. The rooms very clean and well presented and the food was excellent. Our family of 4 stayed in the suite which was perfect for our wedding preparation as we had lots of space, an ironing board and iron, washing machine, fridge and dressing area which all came in handy. Above all, we felt safe and comfortable in the property.
Nirupama and her staff also helped us organise a henna party on the rooftop for my sister. The event was a hit and everyone loved the decorations, the atmosphere, the food and the service.
My only suggestion is perhaps they can create a little card or map showing the directions to Hanu Reddy from the main road – it took several attempts before we were familiar with the area to direct auto drivers.
Thankyou Nirupama, Ramesh and Ranjan and all the staff at Wallace Gardens for giving us such a pleasant and welcoming stay in Chennai. You helped us feel at home and thankyou for checking in on us and making sure we were comfortable and that everything was running smoothly. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Chennai.
My sister and I (both in our 70′s) stayed for four days upon our arrival in India. The quiet location, availability of good breakfast options, and AC in the room all aided in adjusting to the time change and climate (coming from Philadelphia in the USA in winter!). Moreover, the staff were very, very helpful to us, answering questions and assisting with placing phone calls, etc. Hanu Reddy, Wallace Gardens was a good choice and our overall experience there was quite pleasant.
My extended family of 15 people stayed in this residences for a week and we all have nothing but praise to all staff members for the wonderful service we received. Rooms and bath rooms were very clean and neat. We had a function in connection with my daughter’s wedding on the roof garden. Staff did the decoration which was very beautiful and organised the food for about sixty people. Everyone loved the food. Staff did the booking for taxis etc.
We will go straight to Hanu Reddy when we next visit Chennai.
This is a small, quiet hotel surrounded by trees. We stayed 3 nights in a pleasant, large de-luxe room on the 1st floor. The veranda is a real bonus. The staff is always smiling, helpful and friendly. The included in the price breakfast is excellent. Although a little difficult to find, HRR is a little heaven in busy Chennai, not far from Fort St George (a must visit for history lovers) and Marina Beach. We would definitely stay there again.
Not much design hotel … , but very proudly to recommend.
The food is PerrrrrrFect! The price is very cheap.
The staff are very helpful and mindful. The room is big enough to feel relax and comfort. The bathroom is also big and clean. It is a small hotel, so there are not many people. I had a homely and friendly stay here.
Stayed for 4 days. Enjoyed the breakfast. Good staff and service. Rooms are clean. Challenge – Distant from public transport. Had to haggle with auto drivers. Transport can be arranged by staff. Plug adopters available.
The staff was amazing, they will attend to you every need no matter what. You’re more than a guest, you are a rock star. I’ve never been treated so well in my life. Breakfast is great every morning. Very good selection for other meals. The bathrooms are beautiful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. In a quiet shaded location. Would definitely recommend. Only gripe would be a little faster WiFi, but it was still decent.
I am staying here from past few months now and I must say I absolutely love this place. The people are so nice and treat me very well. The owner(, the staff everyone is so caring that you don’t feel stranger. The boys are wonderful. Specially Das, Abhishek , Manoranjan , Ashok.
I would seriously recommend this to everyone. The location is just perfect and you get the Privilege to be Rajni Sir’s and Amma neighbour as well
Thanks to my extended family for treating me and my wife so well
Hanu Reddy truly spoke to our hearts. It was a peaceful sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of Chennai. The staff welcomed us as though we were family and have now cared for us for two wonderful stays. The meals were made with love and served in a homely environment.
The accommodation was most comfortable, clean, tidy – we loved the special elephant on our bed Ashok!! It was such a welcome gift on our second visit.
Thank you to the whole Hanu Reddy family for making us feel so at home in the heart of Chennai.
Until next time!
Everything from the staff to the facilities here are excellent. The operators of this residence go above and beyond to make sure their guests are satisfied. Myself and the other people I stayed with could not have been more pleased with our experience. I highly recommend Hanu Reddy Residences.
The place is centrally located and very safe. Rooms are big, neat and well serviced. Complimentray breakfast is good….however, can improve a bit in terms of a quicker service. free internet is quick and reliable. TV channels are plenty. Reasonably priced for the services provided. The owners take personal interest to serve all guests…that is great!
Overall, a place worth exploring when in chennai next.
Centrally located, well-furnished, very well managed, clean service apartments. Complimentary breakfast and room service were good and rather convenient because the apartments are situated in a quiet, beautiful residential area with no eateries around.
Hanu Reddy was a delight. It was quiet, serene, comfortable, clean and very centrally located.
To start with Nirupama, the hands on manager is a star! Her personal care and warmth shine through, as you stay in Hanu!
Mine was a business meeting and it was a perfect place to have a small, connected and intense business meeting. The hall and services were very good. The staff were amiable and very cooperative.
A definite turn on is the open air buffet South Indian breakfast. And they provide the menu you ask for in business meetings (hoping the same with personal stays) with the warmth and smile of tamil hospitality. Rooms are spacious, clean and the surroundings are also very clean and nice ambience/decor.
A definite come back place for me…
I stayed in Hanu Reddy Apartments for a week in January. These apartments are located in a very central location in Chennai – and in a posh residential area. It is truly a home away from home. The management, in particular Ms. Nirupama, the manager, and the staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
The breakfast (included in the price) is superb – especially if you like south Indian food. The staff also go out of their way to accommodate special dietary needs. The rooms are well maintained and located in a very tranquil surrounding.
The apartments is situated in a posh residential area so it’s peaceful surroundings. The rooms are big with comfortable beds and all necessary amenities. Rooms and public spaces are clean and well maintained. Their garden seating offers food which is well made with fresh ingredients but you need to order your food in advance. The breakfast is limited to South Indian items or continental. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Important places like Mylapore, T Nagar are closely for any visit to market or the main temple. We will definitely return to stay here on our next visit.
My husband and I stayed at the Hanu Reddy Residences, in Poes Garden, and we were delighted with everything from start to finish.
From the time when I called from Canada to make the booking, – the response time was very quick from when I left messages, which truly impressed me, up to the time of arrival and then check out, the services were great and efficient.
The owners personally ensure that all guests are comfortable, request any feedback, and ensure that your requests for breakfast, lunch and dinner are met. The Residence staff are very polite, and always willing to help you, more than the expected norm. The chef who normally makes the breakfast, also obliges to requests for breakfast – for example, my husband requested for ‘Salty Pongal’ one day, and he happily complied. The breakfast that is included in the price is sumptuous, and consists of a variety of dishes, including cereal and toasts for those not wanting to have a typical south indian breakfast.
The rooms are clean and well maintained and any requests for extra linen, pillows etc. are immediately provided. I have to say that I was quite impressed with the wi-fi quality and speed in the rooms and in the building, including the outside dining area.
With regard to the hospitality of the Management, I cannot say enough – they are the most gracious hosts, generous with their time, approachable and one of the nicest family that I have ever met. Their personal attention to the care and requests of customers are heard and met, and I should say that the grounds the Residence exists is the most amazing – i.e. covered with lots of trees, plants and shrubs, including the terrace. The grounds were cleaned often by the staff, and so were the terraces, which was conducive to doing Yoga as well.
There are a number of long-term guests staying there from different parts of the world, which says a lot for their hospitality and the management of the residences.
I would highly recommend this property for people who are looking for a place that is like home away from home, and will be staying there again when I do go to Chennai.
I wanted to attend the Chennai December Season (2013) and was considering various properties in Chennai. My pick (gladly) was Hanu Reddy Residences in Poes Garden. The property was close by (some even walking distance) to The Music Academy, Narada Gaana Sabha, Kamarajar Arangam.
As for the property itself, the place offers you some peace and quiet amidst serence environment, green lush trees, beautiful lawn with a smiling Buddha. I checked in at 4AM in the morning, and as i had informed the reception of my late check-in, they ensured someone waited for my arrival. I stayed at there for 6 days and enjoyed every moment of my stay. The staffs were courteous and ensured each and every need was taken care of. The breakfast is something that you would get at home, and i cannot forget the Paranthas i got on a Sunday, soft and tasty. Only one suggestion for improvement would be – toiletaries to be replenished timely. Overall great value for money, kudos to Ms Nirupama who manages the place.
Chennai is a city of Old World charm and Hanu Reddy Residences remind you of such time and beauty. Though I grew up in Chennai and have a family home, I usually stay at hotels due to work and meetings. In my recent trip to Chennai I had this chance to stay at Hanu Reddy Residence (HRR) for the first time with my wife and son as they were on a holiday mood and the stay was overwhelming. Clean large sized rooms, nutritious breakfast and quick service. Besides any good point I can write about HRR, they make your stay feel as home away from home. You wake up with birds chirping and pleasant aroma of flowers around, soothing music during the evenings, you can have your own party in terrace and there are other guests with whom you can chat over a cup of coffee in casual pace. Technically this is a hideaway resort in centre of the city. No high funda Jazz or fancy hotel feel. A convenient residence for family and business or solo. I strongly recommend HRR to all.
I was here to attend a friend’s wedding. We were a large group of 20+ that stayed here. The stay was absolutely pleasant. I checked in at 4 AM – and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were very modern. I had a special request of getting a suit drycleaned through a external service provider- was handled very promptly.
Special mention of Nirupama and Ram who were extremely hands on owners. This was really like staying at a home away from home. Would highly recommend this to anyone.
We used the Hanu reddy residences to put up 30 people from abroad who were attending a wedding in our family. The reception, food cleanliness and service was par excellence . Everyone had a great experience and a great location too. Nirupama , the owner , is a pleasure to deal with – polite ,accommodative and hands on .
Hello, I had used this property for putting some guests for two of my family occasions, starting with two guests for 2 days and going up to 68 guests in 30 rooms; I used the facility for private parties, common buffet lunches and dinners. My guests were from all over the world. I must say I was left completely happy and my guests all praise for the stay. The management is willing, the staff are well trained, hospitable and helpful, Food basically Indian will some international cuisine (less spice) thrown in was really excellent. Tasty yummy food well served. Spacious property and spot centrally located in Chennai. My events were a success and I must attribute major part of this to Hanu Reddy and the family Director incharge Ms. Nirupama Reddy. We could even call her at 1.45 am for some room allotment and she was all smiles. Go ahead and book here, you will love it.
In past one year ,me and my husband stayed here for almost more than 8 months. Its like a home for us now..Now whenever we come to chennai,we never look for anyother option..Hanu reddy residences is always our first choice. The hospitality is good here especially the Nirupama and Ram.They are very generous and helpful..They truely make us feel comfortable here. One more person Mr.Anthony is really nice person.Whenever we want something we always get that…
The ambience is good, environment is clean, its all green everywhere..We always recommend this apartment to our friends and other people.
These residences were recommended by a Chennai friend of mine. (I am from Western Europe.) I spent there two nights in January 2014. As a residence, the location and the rooms were very good. Rooms are large and equipped with everything one needs. Service is excellent and available 24/7. Breakfast was prepared individually according to my wishes. Tariffs are fair. If one is looking not for a hotel but for a nice and quiet residence stay in Chennai, to me these Residences are a very good choice.
My husband and I stayed for two nights at this place. It is located quite close to the railway station – about half an hour away. Great for Chennai where traffic is bad. The manager and most of the staff are Oriya and very helpful. The breakfast is good but could be more sumptuous. Although they do ask for more helpings, the variety of dishes is limited to one or two. Coffee was good- filter coffee.
The rooms are very spacious, well equipped and in true European style furnished with fridge, a kitchenette with pans and plates etc. A hot plate and microwave also. Although we didnt cook as we were busy it would have been relaxing to do so.
The area around is very chique. There are a lot of high end boutiques – Killol, Toni and Guys and the likes. A Greek restaurant is just round the corner with great food – pita bread, humus and lots of salads.
The Apollo hospital is within walking distance and one can comfortably have a checkup or stay a few days if needed while taking care of health needs.
There are some more similar hotels nearby but not as good as this one.
Set in the exclusive residential district of Poes Gardens, this is a secluded, quiet and safe area of Chennai. The Chief Minister’s private residence is close by, so the area is awash with police.
Nice leafy environment but nowhere really to sit out.
The rooms are huge, well appointed, with aircon, wifi and lovely bathrooms. Decor is basic but everywhere is spotlessly clean.
Very friendly staff. Home cooked meals if requested. It is more of a guest house than a hotel, with no bar or formal restaurant.
If you stay here, try the excellent Entekeralam restaurant which is nearby.
We paid 4000 Rs for a large double and at that price in central Chennai I think it rates 4.5 stars.
After spending 4 days here I would highly recommend this place. The service is great and the place is clean and nice. Definitely a good value for the cost of the stay. Morning breakfast at the nice gardening are quite nice and Nirupama Reddy made this place feel like home
Nice place with good service and good rooms – will certaintly stay here again. Good location in the ambassade districkt. Stayed two days in Hanu and had a good time. Very freindly staf. greeting from anders
Its an ideal place to stay when going to the US consulate in Chennai. My name is Dr.Jayan Thomas and I had booked the room for my wife and son . My son was going to the US consulate for visa purpose and since he wanted a room close to it , I decided to take Hanu Reddy Residences. My wife even liked the dog there and the homely feeling.
